Hi, I’m Brian McCanna, owner of MC Builders. My journey in construction started when I was 25 years old as a framing carpenter. I served an apprenticeship learning both framing and finish carpentry, working alongside family for nearly 10 years. When my dad retired and the economy took a downturn, my two brothers and I each went our separate ways.
I was fortunate to find work with several large union contractors, where I put my skills as a framer and leader to good use—working my way up wherever I could. Then, in 2007, the economy crashed again, and I found myself scraping for any work available. I put together a small crew, and we hit the streets looking for framing jobs—anything that would keep us going.
Our focus on quality and efficiency helped us build a strong reputation, one we still take pride in today. Fast forward 20 years, and we still maintain our own framing crews that work to my standards. I personally oversee all of our framing because I believe it’s one of the most important parts of your new home.
At MC Builders, we don’t cut corners. When you’re talking to other builders, ask them who does their framing—subcontractors or their own employees. For us, it’s always our own team, because that’s how we maintain consistent quality.
We’ve built many homes from the ground up, and I still stay hands-on as the salesperson, estimator, and even framer at times—not to mention the warranty department. Staying involved keeps me connected to every project that carries my name.
We don’t build for everyone, and that’s intentional. Building a home is a big, often stressful step for a family, and it’s important that we’re a good fit from the very beginning. We want you to feel confident, comfortable, and excited about the process—and we’re here to make that happen.
